Friends and Food

Two of my favourite 'F' words, no don't panic the other one is 'family'. I love the opportunity to catch up with friends and there is no better way to do it than over a meal. When I received the email trying to set up a dinner date with my passed workmates from Leongatha I jumped at the chance. I am the only retired person in the group but I could only fit in with one of the dates suggested and luckily everyone else could do that date too. We organised to meet at Leongatha Indian Restaurant and I had not long been there and it wasn't a great experience but I was happy to give it another try. There were seven of us and we all had different meals and every one of them was excellent so they have redeemed themselves to me. Unlike a lot of Indian restaurants where you need to sift through the sauce to find the meat the pieces of meat in the curries are all a good size, the meat was tender and the sauces tasty, we all had different types of rice but all were good and we mostly had the garlic Naan bread which is too good to pass up. The only negative about this restaurant is that is is looking a bit tired and needs a bit of a spiff up. We were sitting along the wall and all the backs of our chairs were broken and of course that's why they were on the wall to support them and I had a giant crack in my wine glass. However, anyone looking for a good feed should definitely visit this restaurant. Definite pluses are the extensive menu, the serving staff are happy to advise on whether or not you have ordered enough or too much and to trying to establish the heat of the curries you are ordering. All in all a good night with friends and food.
