For our European tour we chose to fly with Emirates which determined our stop off to be Dubai. Neither Robb or I had been to Dubai before so we were happy with this decision. The last few times we have flown we have chosen Singapore Airlines but we felt their standard had recently dropped, so let's try something different. Our flight was leaving Tullamarine at 5.00am so we needed to be at the airport at 2.00am to sit around and wait until boarding time. We had a coffee while waiting looked in the shops and tried to entertain ourselves to fill in the time. Finally we boarded and at the first opportunity we ordered a drink.
Emirates was a huge improvement on Singapore Airlines, a long haul flight is a revolting experience but definitely an improvement with Emirates. So after 12 hours we finally landed at Dubai airport where we had a 2 hour stopover before flying onto Rome our first stop for our trip. My second photo is Dubai Airport and some of the bigger than life displays.
