There's nothing better for me, apart from travelling, than to be out in my garden talking to my baby's. Our winter garden is now laid out and planted, just waiting for the potatoes to sprout before planting but they will be in before we go away. Everything is timed to be ready for when we return late August and of course there is no doubt that it will all go to plan, however, we do have a plan B in case this doesn't work out. We have cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, chard, broad beans, parsnip, tatsoi and lots of garlic. We still have some leftovers from our summer planting and I have cleaned all these up, including the tomatoes, hoping they will continue to hold on until the better weather arrives. In our lower garden we are nurturing pumpkin which is far too early but still holding on and thriving together with parsnip which is just starting to show. Our flat leaf parsley is going crazy and I love sharing this with whoever is interested.
